We teeter-totter zones 5 & 6, although I swear our little spot of heaven rests in the colder
micro-climate of the two, as daffodils usually bloom down the road first! ....'if not knitting,
then I'm usually in the garden...

  Summer

   Pond Dredging

Years had gone by and it became inevitable that for the pond
to continue to thrive it would have to be dug deeper
and dredged. And so it was....invasive roses that comfortably
sited themselves at the pond's edge were also removed -
    replaced with indigenous blueberry bushes.
Pond dredgings were used to fill in the surroundind area and
when dried were replanted with other native species.
